Demi Vollering Takes Stage 5 Victory and Leads La Vuelta Femenina General Classification

Dutch cyclist Demi Vollering of the SD Worx team has emerged victorious in Stage 5 of La Vuelta Femenina, and in doing so, has taken the lead in the general classification. Vollering’s impressive performance has established her as a top contender for the overall title in the competition.

The fifth stage of La Vuelta Femenina saw a grueling 95.6 km route between Roquetas de Mar and Malaga. Despite the challenging conditions, Vollering managed to break away from the peloton and cross the finish line first with a time of 2h26min47s.

With her victory in Stage 5, Vollering has taken the lead in the general classification of La Vuelta Femenina with a total time of 14h13min39s. Her teammate Annemiek van Vleuten, also of the SD Worx team, sits in second place, just 6 seconds behind.

In a post-race interview, Vollering expressed her joy and gratitude for the victory, citing the hard work of her team and her own confidence as key factors in her success. She now looks to maintain her momentum and continue her dominant performance in the remaining stages of La Vuelta Femenina.
